Few scientists have done more to redefine aging as a solvable medical problem than Aubrey de Grey. As founder of the LEV Foundation, architect of the SENS framework, and the thinker who coined the term "longevity escape velocity," he has reshaped how biotech, investors, and policymakers think about human lifespan. Audiences leave his talks with a clearer view of how close rejuvenation therapies really are.

Dr. Aubrey de Grey is a world-renowned biomedical gerontologist and one of the most influential voices in modern longevity science. He is the founder, President and Chief Science Officer of the Longevity Escape Velocity (LEV) Foundation, a California-based nonprofit dedicated to identifying and removing the most difficult obstacles on the path to widely available therapies that prevent and reverse human age-related disease.
Futurist speaker Aubrey de Grey is best known for devising SENS, the Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence: a comprehensive damage-repair framework that reframed aging not as an immutable mystery but as a medical problem that can be engineered around. His work has shaped a generation of scientists, entrepreneurs, and investors who now see human rejuvenation as a tractable research goal rather than a futurist fantasy.
Over more than two decades, he has co-founded three of the most important nonprofits in the field: the Methuselah Foundation, the SENS Research Foundation, where he served as Chief Science Officer, and LEV Foundation, which he launched to advance combination rejuvenation therapies through ambitious mouse studies and translational research. He also serves as Editor-in-Chief of Rejuvenation Research, the highest-impact peer-reviewed journal focused on therapeutic interventions in aging.
Aubrey de Grey coined and popularized the concept of “longevity escape velocity”: the point at which medical advances extend remaining life expectancy faster than time passes, opening the door to indefinite healthy lifespan. He is the author of The Mitochondrial Free Radical Theory of Aging and co-author of Ending Aging, and his ideas are now central to the work of dozens of biotech companies, investors, and academic groups worldwide.
He holds a BA in computer science and a PhD in biology from the University of Cambridge, and is a Fellow of both the Gerontological Society of America and the American Aging Association.
As a speaker, Aubrey de Grey is unmatched at challenging audiences to rethink aging itself. He moves fluently from cellular biology to economics, healthcare, and policy, helping senior leaders understand what is scientifically possible, what is already in clinical translation, and how to position their organizations for a world in which healthspan, not just lifespan, becomes a strategic variable. Speaker Aubrey de Grey leaves audiences with a sharper sense of where medicine is heading and the urgency of preparing for it.
This keynote reframes aging as an accumulation of cellular and molecular damage, not an inevitable process. Dr. de Grey walks audiences through the SENS damage-repair framework, the LEV Foundation's combination-therapy research, and how targeted repair strategies can dramatically extend healthy human lifespan.
Dr. de Grey explores the rejuvenation technologies moving from lab to clinic and explains how combining interventions, rather than chasing single magic bullets, is the most realistic path to preventing age-related disease. He connects cutting-edge research with what it could mean for patients, healthcare systems, and insurers.
In this forward-looking talk, Dr. de Grey introduces the concept of longevity escape velocity, where medical advances extend life faster than aging progresses. He discusses timelines, scientific feasibility, and what this paradigm shift means for healthcare strategy, biotech investment, retirement, and society at large.
