    Fredrik Reinfeldt Speaker Biography

Fredrik Reinfeldt has been active in Swedish and international politics for over 25 years. Reinfeldt reinvented the Moderate Party (centre-right) creating the New Moderates and entered into an alliance with three other centre and centre-right parties. The four-party alliance won two successive elections and Reinfeldt, as Prime Minister, presided over two coalition governments (2006-14) – the longest non-socialist government period in modern Sweden.
During his time as Prime Minister, Reinfeldt reformed the Swedish economy and labour market, making Sweden one of the most competitive countries in Europe.  More than 300,000 new jobs were created despite the financial crisis. The Swedish economy had higher growth rates and sounder public finances than many other European countries during his time in office.  Sweden was also the only country in the EU that lowered its national debt during the financial crisis.
Reinfeldt was elected as chair to the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) in 2016. The EITI is a coalition of stakeholders from government, civil society, oil, gas and mining companies and investors, working together to promote open and accountable management of natural resources. Over the past decade, they developed the EITI Standard, which is now implemented by 49 countries around the world.
In 2016 Fredrik Reinfeldt was also appointed as a senior adviser at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

    Fredrik Reinfeldt Keynote Topics

In this conference the former Prime Minister of Sweden, Fredrik Reinfeldt and politician with more than 25 years of experience will tell us about his experiences and good practices that helped him to reinvent a political party and rule Sweden for 8 years, placing it as one of the main powers in Europe. These experiences of government and governance are suitable both for politics and for the business world, since they both share the same objective which is to convince an audience to support an idea and push it forward effectively, safely and successfully.

In 2016 Fredrik Reinfeldt was elected President of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), a coalition that works together to promote open and responsible management of natural resources. Thanks to this work and his previous one as Prime Minister of Sweden, he has accumulated great experience around global regulatory matters, especially after helping in the development of the "EITI Standard", which is already used by 49 countries around the world. In this conference, Reinfeldt will give the guidelines to follow to efficiently manage the global regulatory affairs of any company, a key aspect since in many cases, if not managed correctly, it can lead to losses of contracts, delivery of late orders or loss of money in operations with foreign currency.

Sweden was the only EU country that managed to lower its national debt during the 2008 financial crisis and has managed to position itself as one of the most competitive countries in Europe. All this happened between 2006 and 2014, when Fredrik Reinfeldt was its Prime Minister. In this keynote speech, he tells audiences how he managed to successfully develop an innovation economy in Sweden with great detail into how he managed to lay the foundations and promote the growth of companies and initiatives that focus on innovation and optimization of resources.

Sustainability is a term widely used in these times of climate change, global awareness of the limitation of natural resources and renewable energy. The objective of sustainability is based on being able to ensure that future generations can have access to the same natural resources that we currently have. In this keynote speech, Fredrik Reinfeldt, former Prime Minister of Sweden will tell us how he managed to transform and raise awareness of the country and its economy to make it one of the most sustainable in the world.

The Swedish economy and its companies have been among the most competitive in the European Union and their growth has become exponential in recent years. A lot of this is due to the foundations of its economy and the good work done a decade ago. This work was carried out by the party of Fredrik Reinfeldt, who ruled the country from 2006 to 2014 and managed to transform its economy and business fabric. In this speech he will share first hand what changes they made and how they managed to attract the talent and capital that made possible the transformation of the country and its companies.
